GRANDMA'S RAISIN OATMEAL COOKIES 
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine in bowl and let stand 1 hour. 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 3 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 c. oatmeal 1 c. chopped walnuts

Combine eggs, raisins, and vanilla; let stand 1 hour. Thoroughly cream shortening, brown and white sugar. Sift flour, salt, soda and cinnamon into sugar mix; mix well. Blend in eggs, raisin mix, oatmeal and nuts. (This is a stiff dough.) Place dough by heaping teaspoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet or roll into small balls and flatten between hands. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. 5 to 6 dozen.
