ROMAN APPLE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. diced apples

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon

Bake for 1 hour at 300 to 350 degrees.
