GREAT PINEAPPLE CAKE 
1 yellow cake mix
1 can crushed pineapple
3/4 c. sugar
1 lg. vanilla pudding, instant
1 c. coconut
1 sm. carton Cool Whip
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix and bake cake mix as directed for a 9 x 13 inch pan. While cake is still hot, punch holes in cake (use the end of a wooden spoon). Mix the pineapple with 3/4 cup sugar in a saucepan and heat over moderate heat for about 5 minutes. Spread over hot cake. Chill. Mix the vanilla pudding according to package directions. Add the coconut to this and spread over cooled cake. Top with Cool Whip and chopped nuts.
