BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. dry milk powder
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. carob or chocolate chips
1 c. whole wheat flour

Melt butter and brown sugar in large saucepan. Add the oil. Cool slightly. Add remaining ingredients in order given. Mix together well. Put batter into ungreased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 24 to 30 bars.
