APPLE COBBLER 
1 1/2 c. sugar (divided)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. chopped nuts
4 c. tart apples
1 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/3 c. melted butter

Stir together 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and half the nuts; set aside. Grease 8 inch pan. Add apples and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Beat egg with milk and butter. Add to dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.

Pour over apples and add nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Serves 6-8. This will make its own crust.
