BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. ground clove
1 c. mashed banana
1/2 c. chopped nuts, optional

Cream in butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add combined dry ingredients alternating with bananas; mixing well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour in greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
