CARAMEL - CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
1 pkg. caramels
1 can evaporated milk
1 box German chocolate cake mix
2/3 c. butter (melted)
3/4 c. walnuts (chopped)
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. coconut

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt caramels and 1/4 cup of the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly, until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Keep mixture warm over low heat, stirring occasionally. Mix the cake mix (dry), butter, remaining milk and the pecans. Spread half of the mixture in an ungreased pan. Bake 6 minutes, remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips and coconut over baked layer. Drizzle caramel over chocolate chips and coconut. Spread the remaining cake mixture over the caramel. Bake until the cake portion is slightly dry to touch. Cool and serve.
