FRENCH TOASTED HAM AND CHEESE
SANDWICHES

2 tbsp. orange marmalade
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced ham
1 (8 oz.) loaf party rye bread slices
1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced Swiss cheese
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. milk
1 egg

About 40 minutes before serving: In cup, stir marmalade and mustard until well mixed; set aside. Cut ham slices to fit on half of the bread slices; cut cheese slices to arrange on top of ham; then top with a dollop of marmalade mixture and another bread slice.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch jelly roll pan, melt butter; remove pan from oven. In pie plate with fork, beat milk and egg until well mixed. Dip sandwiches, one at a time, into egg mixture to coat on all sides. Place sandwiches, in one layer, in jelly roll pan.

Bake sandwiches until golden brown on both sides, about 20 minutes, turning once. Cut each sandwich in half. Serve hot.
