CRISP COCONUT OATIES 
1/2 c. softened butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. coconut flavor
1 c. flour
1 c. quick-rolled oats
1/2 tsp. salt, if desired
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. Rice Krispies

With electric mixer, cream butter with sugars, until light and fluffy. Stir in egg, vanilla and coconut flavors. Beat well and set aside.

Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Stir this mixture into the butter and sugar mixture, blend well. Then stir in coconut, oats and Rice Krispies. Roll into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls. Place on cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.

Bake at 325 degrees for about 12 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown. Makes 3 to 4 1/2 dozen.
