COCONUT-CORNFLAKE CRISPS 
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. cornflakes
Sugar

Sift together flour and baking powder and set aside.

Cream together shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar, add egg and vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients, blending well. Stir in coconut and corn flakes. Cover and chill.

Shape dough in 1 inch balls, place about 3 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Flatten with a greased bottom of drinking glass dipped in sugar. Bake in 350 degree F. oven 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and cool on racks. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
