1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour

Mix and pat into pan. Spread with favorite jelly. Reserve part of batter to roll out and cut into strips for top. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
