CORNBREAD 
1 cup corn meal
1 cup flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. melted butter or shortening (bacon grease preferred)
1 cup milk
1 egg

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Sift dry ingredients together. Add milk. Drop in egg and beat well. Add butter/shortening.

Bake 25 minutes or til golden brown on top.
