PASTA HOT DISH | |
16 oz. Mostaccioli (cooked about 3/4 of the way) 1 lb. ground chuck 3 cans tomato paste 1 pkg. sloppy joe mix 4 oz. grated Parmesan cheese (not the powder) 8 oz. grated sharp Cheddar cheese 2 cans mushrooms (chop but don't drain) 1/4 c. dried minced onion Salt and pepper to taste In a dutch oven size pot, brown and mince the ground chuck. Add tomato paste and sauce mix. Add mushrooms with their juice. Add water until sauce is consistency of spaghetti sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes or so. Add cooked Mostaccioli. Turn off heat. In a 13 x 9 oblong cake pan make a layer of pasta mix. Cover with approximately 2/3 of the cheeses. Cover with rest of pasta. Bake covered with foil for 20 to 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Uncover and add rest of cheese. Return to oven. |
