1 1/4 c. flour, divided
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. maraschino cherries
1 c. walnuts, chopped

FROSTING:

2 c. confectioners' sugar
3 tbsp. butter, softened
2 to 3 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. maraschino cherry juice
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Combine 1 cup flour, butter and powdered sugar and press in 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake crust for 12 minutes, cool.

Combine brown sugar and eggs; beat until fluffy. Combine 1/4 cup flour, baking powder and salt, add to eggs. Stir in cherries and nuts. Spread over crust. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

Mix frosting ingredients and spread on bars when cool.
