OATMEAL BREAD 
2 c. oats
1 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. salt
3/4 c. vegetable oil
1/3 c. sorghum molasses
2 c. boiling water
2 c. cold water
4 pkgs. active dry yeast
3 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
5 to 8 c. all purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix oats, sugar, salt, oil and molasses with 2 cups boiling water. Mix well. Add 2 cups cold water and set aside until just warm. Dissolve yeast in warm water.

Add dissolved yeast, whole wheat flour and wheat germ to the first mixture. Mix thoroughly. Add white flour, mixing until a soft dough is formed. Knead on a floured board 5 or 10 minutes until smooth. Put dough in a large greased bowl and let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in bulk. Punch down and divide into 4 greased 9 x 5 x 2 3/4 inch loaf pans. Let rise 45 minutes to 1 hour, until double in bulk. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Makes 4 loaves.
