OYSTER STUFFING 
1/4 c. butter
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 pt. (or one 8 ounce can) oysters
Water
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chicken-flavor stuffing mix

1. Melt butter in saucepan, saute onion until soft.

2. Drain liquid from oysters into 2-cup measure; add enough water to make 1 3/4 cups. Chop oysters.

3. Add oyster liquid and packet of vegetable and seasoning from stuffing mix to saucepan; heat to boiling; cover and lower heat. Simmer 6 minutes (if using fresh oysters, add to saucepan for the last 2 minutes).

4. Remove from heat; stir in packet of stuffing crumbs and the can of oysters. Cover and stand for 5 minutes.

5. Either stuff turkey or bake in a buttered dish for 1/2 hour at 325 degrees.
