OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
2 tbsp. shortening
6 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. water

Mix all ingredients together except liquids. Add milk and water until dough is not stiff. Roll out on floured cutting board to about 1/2 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter into desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes. Or place in iron skillet surrounded by hot coals and covered with heated lid. Cooking time on oven hearth takes about 5 minutes.
