OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
5 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. softened butter
2 tbsp. buttermilk

Cream butter and sugar together, mixing well. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each one. Combine the rest of the ingredients ending with the flour. Mix well with the creamed mixture. Chill for 2 hours.

Roll dough out onto lightly floured surface. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out with cookie cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until brown.
