DATE NUT BREAD 
1 1/2 c. pitted dates
1/2 c. hot milk
3 c. flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. mashed banana or applesauce
1 c. chopped nuts

In blender, combine 1/2 cup dates and milk. Set aside. Mix together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.

In another bowl, combine sugar, eggs, butter, banana and date and milk mixture. Add dry ingredients, mixing just to blend. Stir in remaining 1 cup dates. Spoon batter into greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
