MOM'S HAMBURGER HOTDISH 
1 med. onion, chopped
1 lb. hamburger
3/4 tsp. salt
Pepper
1 can French style green beans, drained
1 can tomato soup
7 med. potatoes
3/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter

Cook potatoes in salted water; drain. Mash potatoes, add milk and butter. Set aside. Brown hamburger and onion with salt and pepper; drain.

Layer in 1 1/2 quart casserole: Browned hamburger and onion. Green beans, tomato soup. Drop in mounds the mashed potatoes. If desired, sprinkle with 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes (or until casserole bubbles and potatoes are lightly browned).
