SUGAR AND SPICE NUTS 
1/4 c. butter
3 c. pecan halves
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

In 10-inch skillet, melt butter; stir in nuts and 1/2 cup sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until sugar melts and nuts brown, 8 to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Stir in caramelized nuts. Spread on waxed paper; cool completely. Store in tightly covered container. Place in small jars or tins for hostess gifts.
