ENGLISH MUFFIN BREAD | |
5 1/2 to 6 c. flour 2 pkgs. yeast 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. milk 1/2 c. water Cornmeal (heated with the water) Combine 3 cups flour, sugar, salt and soda. Add liquids to above, beat well. Stir in enough flour to make stiff batter; sprinkle top with cornmeal. Bake at 400 degrees 25 minutes. Slice when cool. Toasted the flavor is that of Thomas' English Muffins. Makes 2 loaves. |
