LAYERED LETTUCE SALAD | |
1 head lettuce 4 hard boiled eggs, sliced 1/2 green pepper 1 sweet onion 1 c. diced celery 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, cooked & drained 8 slices bacon, fried & diced (bacon bits may also be used) 2 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing 2 tsp. sugar 4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese Tear lettuce into pieces and place in a bowl or container that has a lid. Layer the remainder of the ingredients in the order given: Celery, eggs, peas, pepper, onion and bacon. Add the sugar to the mayonnaise and spread on the top like icing. Top with grated cheese. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours before serving. |
