1 tbsp. mixed spices
2 tbsp. butter
Dash of salt
2 c. sugar
2 c. cold water
1 lb. raisins
1 c. black walnuts
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Boil this ten minutes and add baking soda dissolved in warm water. Add flour and baking powder. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.
