APPLE TORTE 
2 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter, melted

SAUCE:

3 tbsp. corn starch
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
6 lg. apples

Mix crust ingredients and press into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Save 1 cup of crumb mixture for topping. Mix first 4 sauce ingredients and bring to a boil, until it thickens. Remove from heat, add vanilla and cinnamon.

Add peeled, sliced apples and mix thoroughly. Pour into pan and top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until apples are tender. Other fruit fillings can be used.
