OLD - FASHIONED SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. salad oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
4 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt

In large mixing bowl, cream butter and confectioners' sugar and granulated sugar at medium speed. Beat in eggs, one at a time until fluffy. Add oil, vanilla, lemon peel and mix well.

In another large bowl, combine flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Beat until well blended. Divide the dough into thirds. Wrap each in wax paper and refrigerate for several hours. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 2 large cookie sheets.
