CARAMEL DUMPLINGS 
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. boiling water
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

Caramelize 1/2 cup sugar in skillet, stirring constantly until golden brown. Slowly pour in the boiling water. Add butter, 1 cup sugar and salt. Cook 10 minutes.

DUMPLINGS:

1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar; add sifted flour and baking powder, milk and vanilla. Drop by spoonful in hot sauce. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Serve upside down with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
