OLD FASHIONED GINGERBREAD 
2 eggs
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. shortening, melted
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. boiling water

Beat eggs with sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses and shortening, mix well. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and spices. Add to molasses mixture, mixing well. Stir in boiling water.

Pour batter in greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until tests done. Cool. Serve with whipped cream. 12 servings (2 1/2 x 3-inch squares).
