SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
1 lb. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
4 c. all-purpose flour

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Combine ingredients and mix well. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Lightly press balls with fork just enough to flatten out the top of the cookie. Bake 10 minutes, or until bottom of cookies are slightly golden brown.
