EXCELLENT SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
2 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. walnuts, finely chopped

Resift flour and baking powder. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in walnuts. Cover and chill. Roll cut dough to 1/4 inch thickness, cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes or until edges are very lightly browned. Cool on rack. Makes 2 to 2 1/2 dozen. Store in cookie tin.
