7 c. sliced cucumbers 1 onion 1 green pepper 2 c. sugar 2 c. vinegar 1 tsp. celery seed 1/4 tsp. alum 1 tsp. turmeric 1 tsp. salt Dill seed (if desired) Place cucumbers, onions, green peppers in jar. Mix and add remaining ingredients and stir well until sugar is dissolved. Do not heat. Pour over pickles and stir. These can be eaten the next day. They get better with each passing day. They are cool and crisp. |
