1 1/2 lb. ground beef 3-4 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. each salt & pepper 1 tbsp. each minced dill weed & parsley flakes 3 slices stale bread 2 eggs, separated (beat whites stiff) 2 tbsp. flour 1 can consomme beef broth 3 tbsp. sour cream Mix stale bread with water. Squeeze out water and add ground beef, seasonings and egg yolk. Mix with hands. Add stiff beaten egg whites. Make 12 oval cakes. Brown in butter. Put cakes in deep baking dish. Add flour to drippings left from browning cakes. Mix like making gravy. Add sour cream and consomme broth. Bring to boil and pour over cakes. Bake covered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. |
