BEST OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco oil
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 c. quick cooking oats

Cream first 3 ingredients. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add remaining ingredients. Drop level tablespoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Add for variation: 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon or 1 (12 ounce) package butterscotch chips.
