PEANUT PATTIES 
2 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. white syrup
1 c. evaporated milk
3 c. raw peanuts
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Red cake coloring

Mix together sugar, syrup, milk and peanuts. Cook to a boil; reduce heat to low and cook for 1 hour, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and cake coloring. Beat until creamy. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper to cool.
