POPPYSEED TORTE 
1/2 lb. graham crackers, rolled fine
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. pecans (optional)

Line buttered 8x12 pan.

1 c. sugar
3 level tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. poppy seed
1 tbsp. butter
4 egg yolks, add last
3 c. milk

Cook 2 minutes; add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

MERINGUE:

4 egg whites
8 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees or lightly brown under broiler. Watch it!
