ORANGE ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 c. butter or substitute
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
3 tbsp. orange juice
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 unbeaten egg white
Ground nuts

Cream butter. Add sugar, beating well until blended. Add orange rind still beating. Sift flour with baking soda. Add flour mixture alternately with orange juice, still beating. Make long rolls about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap rolls in waxed paper and refrigerate about 24 hours or until thoroughly chilled. Cut in thin slices, brush tops with unbeaten egg whites and sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
