MAMA'S CHOCOLATE PIE 
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour or less
cornstarch
dash salt
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs. separated
2 c. milk
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients and cook until thick, medium to low heat. Let cool, add butter and vanilla. Pour into cooked pie shell. Top with meringue.

Meringue:

2 egg whites (for 8 inch pie) 3 egg white (9 inch pie)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
4 tbsp. sugar

Beat egg whites with vanilla and cream of tartar till soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating till stiff and forms peaks. Spread over hot filling sealing to edge of pastry.

Bake 350 for 12 to 15 minutes or till golden.
