RICE PIE WITH HAMBURGER CRUST 
1 lb. lean ground meat
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/4 c. chopped onions
1/4 c. chopped green peppers
1 tsp. salt, divided
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 cans, (8 oz.) tomato sauce, divided
1 c. pre-cooked rice
1 c. water
1 c. grated cheese, divided

Combine meat, crumbs, onion, and green pepper, 1/2 tsp. salt, pepper, 1/2 c. tomato sauce, and mix well. Pat firmly on bottom and sides on 9 inch pie plate. Flute around edge.

Combine rice, water, 1/4 c. cheese, remaining tomato sauce, add 1/4 tsp. salt. Spoon this into meat shell. Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes at 350.

Remove foil and add rest of cheese over top of pie. Bake another 10 to 15 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Serve hot.
