PULLED TAFFY 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1 or 2 tsp. butter
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Boil first four ingredients together until mixture turns brittle when dropped into cold water (260 - 265 degrees on candy thermometer). Pour onto buttered platter until it cools slightly. When cool enough to touch, pull taffy until it becomes white. Twist into strings and break into small pieces.
