SMOTHERED ONIONS 
1 lb. onions, peeled and sliced
2 tbsp. beef or chicken broth
1/2 tsp. each salt and sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. parsley

In heavy skillet over medium to low heat, cook onions, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Add broth, salt, sugar and pepper; continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until onions are well browned and tender. Stir in parsley. Serve with broiled meat and/or fish.
