ICED SUGAR COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
6 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Beat butter and shortening for 30 seconds. Add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beating until well blended. Cover and chill at least 3 hours.

Working with 1/2 of the dough at a time, on a lightly floured surface, roll into 1/8" thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes or until done. Frost with icing in various colors, using clean, new paint brushes. This recipe may be doubled.

ICING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Enough milk to make a thick drizzle consistency
