1 c. oil
1 c. sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Combine oil, sugars, butter and shortening; blend well. Add eggs and vanilla, blending well. Add the dry ingredients to the batter.

Dough should be soft but not sticky. Drop small balls of dough on pan. Press down with sugared glass colored sugars may be sprinkled on top of each, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
