MARINATED FLANK STEAK | |
1) 2 tbsp. mild soy sauce 2) 1 tsp. powdered ginger or grated fresh ginger root 3) 2 tbsp. frozen unsweetened pineapple juice concentrate 4) 4 green onions, diced 5) 1 tsp. garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 1/2 lb. flank steak, scored lightly, fat removed 1 c. fresh pineapple chunks for garnish Watercress or parsley sprigs Combine first 5 ingredients, place in a plastic bag, add flank steak and marinate 4-6 hours. Turn meat in marinade from time to time. Remove meat from marinade and broil 5 minutes on each side, or as necessary for desired degree of doneness. Cut diagonally into 1/2 inch slices for serving. To serve: Place flank steak slices on a warm platter, garnish with watercress or chopped parsley and sprinkle pineapple chunks over meat. Serves 6 (3 ounces cooked beef = 1 serving). Calories: 172. |
