PICCALILLI 
6 lbs. green tomatoes
6 green peppers
6 sweet red peppers
3/4 lb. sm. onions
1 1/2 qts. white vinegar
3 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. salt
1/3 c. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 tsp. celery seed

Wash tomatoes and peppers thoroughly. Trim, quarter tomatoes, seed and quarter peppers. Put tomatoes, peppers and onions through food grinder using medium blade. Drain, discarding juice. In large kettle, pour 1 quart vinegar over vegetables, boil 30 minutes, stirring often. Drain, discarding liquid. Return vegetables to kettle, add remaining vinegar, sugar, salt and spices. Simmer 3 minutes. Continue simmering while quickly packing. Seal at once. Yields 6 pints.
