BASTING SAUCE FOR ROASTS 
1/2 c. red wine
1/2 c. hot water
1 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. rosemary
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes. Baste beef, lamb, pork or veal roasts with sauce frequently while baking.
