RED VELVET CAKE | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1 c. buttermilk 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. Wesson oil (no substitute) 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cocoa 1 tsp. vinegar 2 eggs 1 or 2 (1 oz.) bottles red food coloring Cream sugar with oil and eggs. Mix cocoa and food coloring in cup and add to sugar and egg mixture. Beat hard and add buttermilk, flour and vanilla. Mix soda and vinegar together and fold in. Pour into 2 greased and floured round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Split to make four thin layers. Ice four layers. |
