AMISH APPLE CAKE | |
2 1/2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. salt 4 c. chopped apples 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs Method as for any other cake. Bake for 45 minutes at 325 degrees in a 9"x13" pan. CARAMEL FROSTING: Melt 1/2 cup butter. Add 1 cup brown sugar, boil. Stir 1 minute, or until slightly thick. Cool slightly. Add 1/4 cup milk, beat smooth. Beat in about 3 1/4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar until it is of spreading consistency. |
