CHRISTMAS FRUIT COOKIES 
1 lb. pecans
1 lb. raisins
4 tbsp. bourbon, optional
1/2 c. butter
3 eggs, separated
2 3/4 c. plain flour
2 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lg. container red cherries
1 sm. container green cherries
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix nuts, fruit, bourbon, vanilla and 3/4 cup flour; set aside. Mix butter, egg yolks and sugar. Add flour, baking powder and soda. Beat egg whites stiff and mix all together. Bake on cookie sheet (drop by spoonful). Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Note: I sometimes use 8 ounces raisins and 8 ounces chopped dates.
