ROYAL BARLEY WATER 
1/2 c. pearl barley
2 1/2 qt. water
2 lemons
6 oranges
Brown sugar to taste

Put barley in large saucepan, add boiling water and simmer over low heat covered for 1 hour. Squeeze fruit. Keep juice. Strain water from barley into bowl, add rinds of 1 lemon and 3 oranges. Add sugar. Allow to stand until cold. Remove rinds and add orange and lemon juice. Keep in refrigerator.
