CHEESE PUFFS 
1 lb. loaf unsliced bread
2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 (8 oz.) brick Cheddar cheese
1 c. butter
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 1/2 tbsp. crumbled crisp bacon, optional

Trim crust from bread and cut bread into 1 inch cubes. Combine cheeses and butter in top of double boiler. Cook until cheeses melt, stir constantly until smooth. Fold small amount of hot cheese mixture into beaten egg whites. Fold in remaining cheese mixture.

Coat bread cubes with cheese mixture. Place cubes 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Refrigerate or freeze. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
